“This is a great book for more advanced young readers. It also has plenty of suspense
and mystery added into it. You never know when something exciting is going to
jump right into the book. It was a great addition to the Harriet The Spy series.
I was excited to read it and grateful that I had. I also suggest this book for middle
school kids beacause like I said it is a little more advanced in reading. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did.”

I sometimes couldn't figure out who was who and I wasn't sure if everyone was credible, but maybe that's just me. I DID like the end and I DID like the very mature handling of religion and its influence on the lives of children. Harriet is a spunky gal, I'll say that for her.”

I can see how it was fairly daring for the 1960's but now seems like most of the 70's pre-teen novels. Enjoyable.”

Louise Fitzhugh was a brilliant observer of human nature; that she spins yarns which work for the youth and adult market equally well attests to her genius. I lurve this even more than "Harriet the Spy" (although possibly not quite as much as "Suzuki Beane," now out of print, I think.”
