  • Lloyd Irving: An irresponsible and brash young man, but also a gentle idealist who wishes for peace in the world. He was orphaned as a child and raised by a dwarf smith named Dirk who lives just outside the village of Iselia.
  • Colette Brunel: She is the Chosen of Regeneration, meaning she is the one who will bring peace and prosperity to the world of Sylvarant. She has a truly selfless nature, tending to hide her problems from others and attempting to make friends with just about everyone she meets.
  • Genis Sage: A child prodigy, and the younger brother of Raine Sage. He and Colette are Lloyd's best friends. He is friendly, but because of his intelligence is often sarcastic and arrogant.
  • Raine Sage: Iselia's schoolteacher and Genis' older sister. She is a calm, pragmatic thinker who tends to be mistrustful of others. She is fascinated with ruins of any kind. Often called 'Professor' by Lloyd and Colette.
  • Kratos Aurion: A skilled yet mysterious mercenary hired to protect the Chosen on her journey.
  • Sheena Fujibayashi: A female assassin who attempts to kill Colette.

  • Altessa: A dwarf who studies exspheres. He lives in the Gaoraccha Woods.
