I love Thoreau. I am such a book worm that on warm summer days I often feel the desire not to picnic or walk, but instead to read Thoreau. He was a naturalist and much of his writing is about the outdoors, and freedom, and individuality. This particular book has his 5 of his more famous works, beginning with Civil Disobedience.
