REad it once a year to inspire you to be a better housekeeper. I love her philosophy of keeping house! You have to read this one!”

It's an extensive book, so I'm still wading my way through it, but am very happy with the content. Lots of great tips!”

Alas, I felt more than a bit of guilt upon learning that I should be completely washing out my refrigerator once a week. And do other people really clean their shower drains, including the trap, every single day? How can that be? At this point I have to consider the book largely aspirational for myself, but it's full of valuable information that I was able to assimilate while occasionally feeling like a bit of a sloth.”

Mendelson is a lawyer and academic, and it shows in the thoroughness of this work. But you can tell too that she loved writing this, her "secret life"! Great for looking up things - entertaining, care for certain fabrics, choosing new linens. Just seeing it there on my shelf makes me happy! ”
