I really liked this and hope to use it for part of my homeschooling. I especially liked how it gave you age-appropriate goals for your kindergartner.

'Designed for use by both parents and teachers, this first volume in the Core Knowledge Series provides kindergartners with the fundamentals they need to prepare for a lifetime of learning.'

Love teaching core knowledge. It just makes sense.

From the Core Knowledge Series, this is based upon the Cultural Literacy school of thought and is a good way for parents and grandparents to evaluate and monitor a child's learning throughout the school year.

I found the Core Knowledge Series--of which this book is a part of--to be extremely helpful. They give specifics rather than general, which is what I need right now. Once I get going and have a feel for what I am doing, I may not need specific direction. For just getting started, though, this is a fantastic book.

It could also be used by parents who don't homeschool--just to make sure their children are learning what they should be and helping them if they need it.

Again, great for a parent who is wanting to make sure their child has learned everything they needed to learn for the year. Even parents whose children go to public school need to be diligent and extend the learning from school to home.
