Yes | No“This is not a book that I would recomend to anyone who wants to learn about John Belushi or any of his work. As a matter of fact I would not recomend this book to anyone at all. The people who were interviewd for the book were not happy with the end result and have said so many times. The movie that was made off the book was boycotted by John's friends and family.
It is easy to see that Woodward was not a fan of Belushi and I did not enjoy this book. The first half talks a bit about his life and work and the last section is all about drug use and critisism for him and his works.
Judith Belushi responded to this book with "Samurai Widow" and then resently with "Belushi a Biography". This are the books that I would recomend for someone who wants the real story as well as a good read.”
“I found the writing style a little stilted but it was a good story and it was hard to read about such self-destructive behavior. ”
