Yes, I tried. I put chalk on the dresser and willed it to move. As you know, it didn't work. I guess I'm not as smart as I thought I was.
Well, no. But I read this bookas an adult. But I'll tell you, I wanted to!
yes, it did. i tryed to move a battery and carrot, and nothign happened. im pathetic!
It didn't make me want to move things, but I want to visit and live in Ms. Honey is cottage for the longest time and still do!
yes it does XD
Sigh...I'm too old to believe that....But I loved this book, & anything by Dahl. He'sw wonderful!
This book did not make me want to move things with my mind, although I really did want Ms Honey to be my teacher. But I did want to fight and beat the witches!
haha, yes, i totally did try! I was the lonely bookish kid, too, and i wished that I had an awesome teacher like Ms. Honey to hang out with
Tell me this book didn't make you try to move things with your mind. Just try and tell me it didn't.
omg! i love Roald Dahl!

Matilda is my childhood and it was my company when I had nobody.
I think Matilda's eager for reading made me intersted in books.
I want to thank all of you for your stories about your experiences reading Matilda. Reading a book is a delight but hearing how a single reading experience filters through our lives brings the book into focus, not just on the literary level but the personal, which I've learned is the true way to measure the importance of a book. The literary critics measure a book's worth by objective standards and how it stacks up against other books. I'd rather think that a book's real value in how it touches our lives and elicits a response from us, like the ones I've been reading. I missed reading Matilta but the next trip into Tucson, I'm heading to the bookstore to get a copy. Thanks for your honest feelings. And Memories. Phil
I love this book it is so funny and it tells the story of an extroardinary 6 year old!! She is very lucky and also not so lucky!
If you haven't seen the Matilda or The Witches movies go out asap and get them. You won't be disappointed in those either! Both still make us laugh out loud. My boys love to read anything by Dahl.
I've never seen the Witches movie but Matilda is a very funny movie. Danny De Vito is a hoot.
it is very funny
one of my favorite books as a child. Matilda is so precocious and I love how she is able to take matters into her own hands to make life better. If only you really could move things with your mind if your brainpower were being underutilized!
This is a very good book I couldn't put it down (though I was in 3rd grade) I read it in bed after I was supposed to be in bed that is where I finished it at like 11:00
Is this really a good book? What is it about?
It's about a little girl who is detested by her parents and because she is deprived of a real education for so long, she uses her mind to levitate things and then meets someone that saves her from her parents. If I just said a plot spoiler, I really didn't mean to. It is a great book!!!!!!
i have read this book. it's really fantastic. interesting and fabulous book ever! it give me an inspiration.
It's nice, touching, funny and magical........like Roalds other books it's about a brave child that is confronted with an impossible situation....
it's got a compelling story line with a few comical twists on the way and it still has a wonderful ending, in general all Roald Dahls books are fantastical and exploit a child's imagination to its greatest extent. I think the best story really was Charlie and the chocolate factory/
the best roald dahl book
yah that is right XD
I thought this book was interesting, it's better than the movie. It is funny and kinda sad, but it is still a good book.
was matilda's principal mean or nice?
She was the MEANEST person ever!
she was REALLY mean she even grabed a girls hair swung her around and threw her now that was REALLY mean alright but her teacher was really nice her name is Ms Honey

Goodness, don't we know she did?

i think yes
actually i dont think so. if so why would she take the house away from her
It's obvious...I mean that lady is evil,so it has to be someone that would do such a thing...
what would you say the age range is for this book???
Yeah. Roald Dahl is really awesome
Matilda's principal is really mean. Matilda's principal is women but she has so strong power. She can throw the students.....

I have read the book and watch the movie, the book was the best!!!!
I like the book Matilita because I knew someone like her!!!
This book was one of my favorites as a child because I really identified with Matilda. I actually liked the movie at least as much as the book; the casting and acting were awesome, and she gets to keep her powers in the end. :)
i am still reading it dont you think her headmistress is petrifying?
i am not good at english and i want to read this book i think thats children book is good for beginers and i dont know how can i download this book?
What came first? The book or the movie?
The book came first by many years. I read it to my older daughter before it was released as a movie. Book and movie match. Miss Trunchbull was great in the movie!
Great book for parents

should i read it?
Yes you should, it was interesting
i saw the movie a long time ago
It seems like a pretty good book but there is a movie to it!
I liked this book. It involved a young girl who loved to read and she was smart. I think it was interesting how she fixed her problem and her teacher's problem.
In fact I think that the movie is as good as the book, but it is better to read it first.
Really, I found the book much much better than the movie....
