Media imposes limitations. However, limits, especially superficially formulaic ones, such as disappearing 'Indian figurines" also elicit tremendous creativity and masterful control in this mystery novel, one of many that have established Christie in the forefront of 'genre-rizing' Mystery in fiction.

A clever who-done-it murder mystery that left me guessing until the end! Agatha was mystery mastermind!

One of Christie's pure puzzle mysteries, and rightfully a classic. Anyone who can solve this one on the first read-through is a master mystery decoder! There is no brilliant detective and there is absolutely no pause in the action until everything is over and done -- and the almost thirty pages of epilogue is absolutely necessary to work everything out. Great fun!

The plot of this book is fantastic. The mystery is so well thought out with a few unexpected twists. The only thing I don't like about the book is the writing style - which is very detatched and analytical. However, it's still worth reading.
