“As a young boy growing up I always asked my dad what it was like in the Army. He would say "See that book, Catch 22? That's the best description I know" So as a young boy of 8 or 9 I would pull the book down, open it and start reading "It was love at first sight. The first time Yossarian saw the chaplain he fell madly in love with him." This would confuse me, I'd think "dad's a weirdo" and put the book back on the shelf. In 8th grade a friend said "you've GOT to read Catch 22 you'll love it"....”

“After 25% (I was reading it in ebook format), I deleted it from my Axim. This book is repetitive, over-long, repetitive, boring, and repetitive. It occasionally made me laugh, but each time only after wading through chapter upon chapter of copied-and-pasted, headache-inducing drivel. The dozens of cardboard cutout characters with similar names made it impossible to relate to or even remember any but a few. Yet another 'classic' that made me want to carve my forehead off with my fingernails.”
