  • raymond catedral: Never been much of a fan of mystery novels but this goes deeper than the genre......One big twist and smaller after-shocks after. Maupin makes you feel for the characters and that is this novel's strength......5 stars
  • Jess: Gabriel's husband and best friend, who acts as his manager and keeps his career running smoothly. He's battled his HIV positive status for years.
  • Donna Lomax: Pete's fiercely protective adoptive mother.
  • Anna: Gabriel's accountant/bookkeper. She's very young, and very protective of Gabriel.
  • Gabriel Noone: A famous (and famously homosexual) author who has a radio show on NPR called "Noone at Night." He has a big imagination and an even bigger heart.
  • Ashe Findlay: The editor who brings Pete's book to Gabriel's attention.
  • Wayne: Add a description of this character.
  • Hugo: Jess and Gabriel's faithful old dog. Named after a designer.
