  “For personal reasons I will always have a special place in my heart for this lovely little book. The Slave is a novel woven like a folktale, the story of two lovers from completely different worlds. Jacob is the slave of the title who falls in love with Wanda, a Christian peasant girl. This delightful story speaks of religious love and devotion and the love and devotion between two human beings. It's a beautifully crafted and warm story that will remain with any reader long after the final page.”
