april turns up later in another spencer book, no smarter than she was in 1982 when this story was written. i liked the character of patricia utley who is a madame at her own brothel. interesting spenserlike solution to a situation

#9. Parker's Spenser only gets better and better. While the main characters are the same people, they grow and change. Each situation Spenser and his cohorts find themselves in is different. Spense is a teddy bear in steel casing. This series is a is a quick, fun crime read.

Very well done but with an oddly enigmatic ending. I somehow don't think April will be the recurring character that Paul Giancomin is. I also wonder if this marks the begining of the end of Susan's career as a guidance consuelor.

A sizzling Spenser book -- involves prostitution, murder, and exploitation. Spenser deals with pimps and other assorted criminals with his usual aplomb and expertise. Good read!
