This is an amazing book. I listened to it on my iPod as an audio book, and then read the actual book. Douglas Adams is one of my favorite authors. This book is absolute perfect. It is a perfect mix of science fiction and comedy. I rarely go through the day without quoting the book. My favorite characters are Marvin, the depressed robot, a holuvu ( a super intelligent shade of the color blue), and Ix, also known as Ford Prefect. Ix means boy who can't explain what a hurung is and why it chose to collapse on Beatlejuese 7. After listening to this book, I see science fiction in a completely diffenent way.

I still like Arthur's response when Ford first enters the story, "I've just got this bulldozer to like in front of or it'll knock my house down.." but other than that he's not busy. The new movie wasn't as good as I hoped. The BBC mini series was much better.

One of the best books you could hope to read. It will turn a non-reader into a reader especially if the non-reader is an adolescent or young adult.

I loved this book soooo much! It had me on the ground I was laughing so hard.

The movie gave it a bad name.

Milton, completely agree, absolutely amazing. The funniest series of all time. I think I read the first one in one sitting and have probably re-read it a dozen times since in the ten years between now and then.
