Great for introducing the idea of spiritual warfare for anyone who has never heard of it before.

These novels paint an awesome picture of spiritual warfare. Praying is a major importance in these stories that can (and should) also be applied to real life.

While this book isn't to be considered gospel or scripture, it gives us one man's idea of what spiritual warfare might look like if we could see it with our physical eyes. I first read it years ago and just reread it for the first time since then. I reread it whenever my prayer life needs a kick-start because sometimes I forget that we don't war against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities and the evil of this world. We have a real enemy who seeks to kill, steal, and destroy. But we have a real Savior who has defeated the enemy. My prayers make a difference in the here and now. If your prayer life just needs to get kicked up a notch, it's a good book to dust off and read again and again.

This story, along with his other book, "Piercing the Darkness", is one of the most powerful fiction stories I've read, Christian or otherwise. It is a page turner, extremely difficult to put down. Dealing with the very real presence of angels and demons amongst men, the story illustrates the power of prayer and the faithfulness of God.

The small town of Ashton is the center of a spiritual battle. The book centers on a pastor and newspaper reporter that are trying to figure out what is going on in their town. I read this probably ten years ago and didn’t remember much of the plot though I thought I liked it. For a Christian thriller, it was much slower paced than I remembered. I wanted everything to happen much faster than it did. Overall, it was an okay book.

This book is a must read. Ok, sure a lot of times the plot was somewhat slow in the beginning and often times near the end I found myself thinking "well that was predictable" or "i saw that coming". Overall though, I still found myself unable to put the book down, desperatly desiring to see how they win (oh, and they do win, make no mistake it's no spoiler God always gets his way).

This book has is prized for its ablity to show what a truely spiritual world we live in. We're in a war! Nothing is more powerful than his name and there can be no better idea at any time and any place than to get down on our knees.

I remember carrying this book around with me EVERYWHERE, yes, even THERE, for the requisite 30 or 40 hrs until the last page was turned. Very good and creepy tale, well worth the time. NOT my favorite book on how the devil and his evil ilk operate (see SCREWTAPE LETTERS) but a very good book, nevertheless.
