A few instructions and reminders:

1) Good English reigns here, too. Write in complete sentences and DO NOT use "internet shorthand". What you do on your own pages is your business, of course, but any discussion thread on this site needs to be standard English.

2) I will add books we are reading together as a class to the Group Shelf. Any book you'd like to add to the shelf (or are adding as a part of an assignment) needs to be of AP quality. If you're not sure whether or not it is, ask me. Remember, on your Shelfari page, you can put whatever you like.

3) Remember that there is a Shelfari widget in Facebook. Also remember that our school computers are currently set to block Facebook.

4) Politeness is mandatory. Show respect for all the opinions posted here even if they differ greatly from your own. No profanity or vulgarity is allowed. Posters violating this policy will find their grade suffers as a result.

5) Posts need to be meaningful. "Me, too", "I hated it", "I loved it", and so forth as the sole body of a post do not a meaningful post make.....

This is a private group for my seniors who are completing their second book project - which brings them all one step closer to passing my class and, hopefully, graduating! Students are to start a post with their book title in the subject line. Pose a question or make a comment about your book within one week of joining. Then, over the next two weeks, respond to at least three other people. Finally, post a brief review of your book when you complete it - do this under your original post. All 3 of my classes will be under the same group; therefore, it is very important that you put your book title in the subject line. Also, keep all posts relevant to the subject! I am going to start one post about something random - you can use this to talk to each other about how much you hate all this work I am assigning- or anything else random. I won't be mad....say whatever you want to each other as long as it is here and not under a book post! : )

Homeschool GJ Book Club 5 books / 2 members / 0 posts We're just a group of Homeschool teens in Colorado trying to get a book club going. We read pretty much anything what with everyone's tastes being different, so we all take turns picking a book. This is just so we can talk to each other.

We meet every other Sunday and/or once a month to discuss the current reading. We are a group with varying ages and at different stages in our walk with the LORD. Jerusalem's Undead Fans 31 books / 63 members / 30 posts Field of Blood, first in the Jerusalem's Undead Trilogy, will be in stores October 7, 2008. There's already controversy about a novel involving vampires, Jewish legend, and biblical accounts. What do you think? Should suspense and horror mix with spiritual concerns? Is it okay to just have an entertaining story, for heaven's sake? Whether foe or fan, chime in here!
