I got bored with this book. Monsters aren't scary when you are told so much about them so early on.

Monster is a kinda thriller/sciency book, and by sciency I don't mean Sci-Fi. I mean science. Like DNA and junk like that. I skipped over a lot of the DNA stuff cuz it was boring, and it didn't ruin the book or anything. The whole book is basically saying how messing with DNA and making mutations is bad.

This is one of the better Peretti books that I have read. Usually his books seem like they are stretched too much to make them into a novel. This one had a little more meat in it, no pun intended! It was a little predictable, but more suspenseful than some of his others. Not a total waste of time, but there are better Peretti books, such as This Present Darkness, Piercing the Darkness, The Prophet, The Oath.

This was a great read, but truly scary. It kept me at the edge of my seat the entire book. I would recommend it to anyone.

I've never been on a "real" hike before and Peretti made me feel like I was really with Reed while he was with the search and rescue party, while they were looking for Beck and the monsters.

One of the reasons you will never be able to put this book down is that you'll never what going to happen next—whether it's Beck getting taken away or finding the sasquatch child, it will always keep you thinking... has man gone too far?

This is my favorite book written by Frank Peretti. He writes so vividly to where you can get a good picture in your mind what is happening but also with enough blocks to where it builds up into a suspended climax letting your brain catch up with your eyes.

I liked it, very different. Loved the personalities of the "monsters"

An interesting read, but as far as lessons go, it's a story disproving evolution from apes. Frank Peretti has written better books for a broader group of people. I STRONGLY recommend The Oath and This Present Darkness and its squeal.

Husband and wife + trip to the woods + abduction of the wife (Lovingly called Beck)+ DNA enhanced creatures + a hunt + suspicion of the husband really being the villian + primate experiments = interesting story.
