In the book My Friend Leonard, it shows that in the most unlikely places you can meet your friends for life. After James Frey got out of prison and found out his girlfriend had committed suicide, it seemed as if he was about to give up all of his progress because he didn't know how to deal with the pain. But then Leonard, one of his first friends in rehab, shows up. Leonard shows James that even if life gives you hell, you have to keep moving on. James grew from the opportunities he was given my Leonard, and overall accomplished what he was looking for. James had found a certain stability to his life, even though it was constantly hectic. In a way, we could say that Leonard saved James from a terrible fate and that James also helped Leonard grow.
