I've read all four books multiple times. The concepts are so unique and the characters are very well fleshed-out. Like many of the series I read, reading the first one always leads to reading all of them. The same thing happens when I read "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" in the Chronicles of Narnia. I suppose many would say I'm too old to read these books, but a good tale usually breaks down age barriers.
