After a year in New York and a summer on her grandfather's island, Vicky Austin is finally back home in Connecticut and getting into the normal swing of things. However, normalcy is traded in for adventure when Adam Eddington's Aunt Serena, befriends Vicky and gives her a cruise to Antarctica for her birthday. Adam is working in Antarctica on a marine biology project and Vicky soon discovers that the Eddington family has a long and dangerous history wrapped up in the icy continent. She knows that some people on the cruise ship aren't who they seem, and that some might even mean her harm and it might be too late by the time she figures out who to trust.
