Characters edit see section history

  • Agatha Raisin: Ex-public relations agent turned amateur detective.
  • James Lacey: Neighbour and ex-fiance of Agatha. James and Agatha seem to be developing a co-dependent relationship. Neither one can quite let the other one get on with their lives.
  • Roy Silver: Friend of Agatha. Used to work for her PR company. He usually only pops up when he wants something from Agatha.
  • Bill Wong: Police officer and friend of Agatha. He is always looking for love but loves his parents so much that he cannot see that they scare his lady loves away.
  • Mrs. Bloxby: Vicar's wife. Agatha's true friend and a truly lovely person.
  • Mrs. Darry: Fellow Carsely villager. She is an incomer who is not settling in to village life.
  • Guy Freemont: Co-owner of the water company and a gorgeous looking man in his mid-thirties.
  • Sir Charles Fraith: Baronet. Agatha's friend with whom she had a brief fling whilst holidaying in Cyprus.
  • Fred Shaw: Village policeman. A most stereotypical character.
  • Peter Freemont: Co-owner of the water company, a bit of a nonentity as a character in the novel.
