A very enlightening story and a great example as to how student- teacher relationship could be...

There is not one dull moment to be found in the book , whether its about a bus ride or a student crush!

I loved the movie so I chose to read the book. It was even better -- although I had to imagine Sidney Poitier as the protagonist!

I agree. It is a really good book for migrants in the 60's to reminise on what happened to them when they first went to the UK with all their west indian qualifications. I think he was an engineer and could not find a job in his field and so he took up teaching about hygiene decorium and so on.

Every one has a special teacher in our lives..
Who change us in some or the other way and
to whom you can give the credit for being what
you are now...Prof. Braithwaite is one such person.
