A young adult novel about two 14-year-old girls—one a prostitute who is an illegal alien, the other a cheerleader who is pressured and hounded by her mother to be perfect.
Both girls are obsessed with appearance and are under the thumb of others.
I read the Spanish version first, and found it to be an interesting and easy read. Then I read the English version. Both were well-written. This book will be in my keeper shelf. Even though it's for young adults, it's interesting for anyone.
