Didn’t Like It

To be honest, I was a bit disappointed in this book. It has some cute projects, but many of them just aren't "me," and I am a bit biased. My suggestion would be to look through these projects before you pick this up. I received it as a present, and I'm not going to get rid of it, but I'm glad...

Some good hints on knitting in general and a few good patterns... Jesse's Flames page 78, pullover possibly for Daniel. Fairly Easy Fairlisle Page 82, fast knit made with bulky yarn. That's about it, glad I didn't buy it.

I have yet to find a book with some cute designs for knitting things other than scarves, hats and leg warmers. This one had maybe one cute design for a purse, but other than that there wasn't much. I doubt I'll ever knit myself a weird halter top or a rocker-friend doll.

The patterns in this book are harder and sometimes difficult to follow. I attempted the capelet and got totally confused and gave up. That was the only project I've every given up on and I've made socks and all kinds of things. I did enjoy the 1hour baby booties and some of the intarsia patterns but the book also has a lot of stuff in it that no one cares about and they didn't do the thing with an insert of patterns. They're just scattered throughout so you have to go flipping around all the time. Boo. But, stil fun with lots of cute ideas I haven't tried yet.

I haven't knitted anything out of this book yet. It doesn't flow as well as the original. Most of the patterns are for strange things, weird for the sake of being wierd. (Kitting isn't for old folk anymore - see how kookie it can be!)

That said, I dream of knitting:
    Fairly Easy Fair Isle
    Hurry up spring armwarmers
    Lil Devil Pants

I became very enamored with the idea of knitting because of this series. I've made the Later 'Gator Mitts from this.
