I was really impressed with this book. Especially since it's written by a bishop for his fellow Christians. It was nice to hear someone speaking knowledgeably and reasonably about religion. Even if I don't agree with him.

Didn’t Like It

To be perfectly honest, I read this book knowing that I would completely disagree with almost everything that Spong said. I had come across something that he had written and decided to hear what he wanted to say. My problem with this book is that Spong is clearly a strong liberal and because so many Christians are conservative, the traditional beliefs of Christians are unintellectual and prejudicial. He argues that we should not believe what the gospels say Christ DID as true, but should...
