The novel's protaganist, Elizabeth, is such a charming and funny character that the other elements of the book pale in comparison to her. The other main character, Jennifer, is creepy and rude and completely unbelievable. Why would Elizabeth even want to be friends with her? We're never given an explanation, or really, even a hint. Konigsburg is usually so clever and imaginative, but this story falls flat. And I'm still confused about the ending: Is there a riddle, or isn't there? I've...
