Blaine is a pain. And that is true.
Don't tell my silly stories and I won't play silly games.
So far this is my favorite in the dark Tower series. Leaves at a cliff hanger that had me begging on hands and knees to go to the library

My favorite part of the Dark Tower series. If the Tick-Tock Man doesn't freak you out, Blaine the Mono will.

A wonderful tale, better than the last. The rich character development and dangers that they encounter at every turn makes this book a fast and joyful read. However, the train with his obsession of riddles can be a bit too much.

This book was ultimately less memorable than the other books in the Dark Tower series. It was necessary to read because I wanted to finish he whole series and while the conclusion seemed like the best (and most like King) of the seven books, the majority of it was just filler it seemed.

King's Dark Tower series is excellent, and the only works of King I have really read. They intertwine what could be our own reality, and many others, with a freakish fantasy world underlying them all. This is my favorite of the series; it pops with adventure and crazy stuff.

After leaving the shores of the Western Sea, Roland, Eddie, and Susannah come across a an ancient mechanical bear named either Shardik or Mir, guarding one of the twelve portals that link Roland's world to the millions of others. It is also where Roland's ka-tet discovers one of the six beams that link the world together, with the Dark Tower in the center, all of them being slowly torn apart by unknown forces. Following the path of the beam Roland's ka-tet enters the Mid-World in their never-ending search for the Dark Tower. Along the way they engage a mystical and horrific battle with a demon inside of a stone circle to return Jake Chambers into their world, and stop the hurrying decay of Roland's sanity and the meeting of a strange creature known as a billy-bumbler, named Oy. Through the town of River Crossing and into the ancient city of Lud where they come across insane citizens and horrific outlaws, all controlled by a single entity, also the ka-tet's final goal: A suicidal monorail named Blaine, his only purpose to cause fear and terror among the people of Lud. Can the ka-tet escape the monorail before the final stop and possible derailment at Topeka. This is true horror and suspense, Stephen King at his very best. Characters that will follow you around during the day and ghosts that haunt you at night. Amazing.

I downright LOVED this book. The completion of Roland's new ka-tet, the adventure, the development of the characters, Mid-World and the journey. More and more ties between our world and Mid-World are popping up everywhere and you cannot help but love this group of misfits for everything they are and aren't. King allows you to get into their heads, to know them. To understand them. To love them and hate them. One of the best books I have read in my lifetime.

I finished this much more quickly than the first two books, something about it just sucks you in. I was dying to know what happened next after this one.
