This installment is full of King-ism for better or for worse: a...” see full review » see other reviews » |

Lots of things happen and I know some people won't be happy that very little is actually resolved in this book, but it is worth it. There is also mentions of a known, popular, character from The Stand that might make some people excited. ”

I think that this will be the best book in the long Dark Tower series! The billy bumbler that Roland and his party meets is awesome too. Its so funny! On top of that, Jake is still alive! Jake is another great character.
I didn't like when Roland kept getting sick. I was even more angry when he lost his fingers! He had a hard time handling his guns because of it, and he's a GUNSLINGER! Another thing that made me uneasy was the giant, cyborg bear that Roland and his group had to fight. I felt bad for it, and I felt bad that it was hurting the characters!”
“The new Ka-Tet begins their quest for the Dark Tower in earnest.”

Yes | No“The third installment of Stephen King's Dark Tower series is the strongest of the first three books of the series. Like The Gunslinger it offers a richly evocative landscape and a compelling cast of heroes and villains.
The new members of Roland's ka-tet, first introduced in The Drawing of Three finally have their chance to shine and truly enter the hearts of the readers during the long trek along the Beam that leads the reader from the desolate beach of the second book, through a variety of landscapes and encounters, until they arrive at the post-apocalyptic city of Lud, a sort of anti-holy city which draws the character's toward it - even holding out some promise of help, if not salvation, only to reveal itself as a pit of slow self-annihilation and as the stage for a final disturbing and possibly deadly encounter.
The Waste Lands is as different from The Drawing of Three as that book was from The Gunslinger, yet these first three books still manage to feel like a single coherent work. In this, King seems to have found a way to present a lengthy epic which continually renews itself and feels fresh and which has not yet suffered from the longueurs that often slow down so much door-stopping epic fantasy available today. Readers coming from the previous two books in the series will not be disappointed.”
“Not my favorite, but still really good.”

But unfortunately I have to admit that "The Waste Lands" was a little disappointing. The first 200 pages were very difficult to read. The action was slowly.
Otherwise, the book had some memorable breathtaking moments. The main characters are very interesting and I can't wait to see what will happen to them in future. So I'll keep reading and I hope the next books to be better. 3,5/5”
“De lo mejor de la saga con el encuentro de muchos mundos donde Rolando se ve casi al punto del delirio”
