Even the movie is not as bad as most of the other movies based on King's books. I actually think it's pretty good. But the book is still one thousand times better!” see full review » see other reviews » |
“i read this book over the summer last year. i wanted to read this book mostly because it came highly recomended by my dad and partially because of the family guy stephen king special. i am not very big into horror movies but i do enjoy reading horror books, and mr king could be the greatest a writing them. Misery is about an author whos car breaks down in the snow and in search of help stumbles upon a house. in the house lives his biggest fan who is mentally insane. she heavly drugs him to keep him held hostage under the influance. this book is full of crazy events, which are all extremely detailed, but the one part about this book that will forever stay in my mind is the drug hallucinitions that are described in such fine detail. the way he describes them are incredible. i enjoyed this book very much, even though it dragged on in some areas. i would recomend it to a select few. you have to enjoy twisted minds to like this book, and if is you, go for it.”

I love Stephen King and his books and I think this was one of his best ones. I like the plot of it too, it's very different. I would not have been able to conjure up such a unigue twist in a book. I liked how it seemed like Paul (the main character) had given up, but I knew he was still determined, and full of hope. I like the amount of detail he put in the book too, I felt like I was Paul and I was going through everything he was going through. I would recommend this to people who like nice classic horror. ”
