“The beginning of a long fantasy/horror series. I am intrigued by the enigmatic character of Roland. This is a weird series that appears to be an apocolyptic quest tale. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.”

“I love picking up the first book of a long series, hoping I'll get sucked in and have a lot of good books to read. Unfortunately, this fell short. I'm not sure if it was the pace or the lack of suspense or the characters, but I was waiting for this book to end so I could move on to something else. I won't be reading the other Dark Tower books. Definitely my least favorite of all the King/Bachman books I've read, which are many.”

“ I loved this book becuase it was really good. Even though the beggining was slow it was still a really good book. It was good because there was great detail and really good descriptions of what was happening. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes western stories or violent stories”
