“I'd like to get into some of King's novels, but I'm not sure which one to start with. What do you guys think of the Gunslinger? Can someone give me a brief summary?”
“If you've never read any of King's books you may want to start with his earlier ones - Misery, Christine, Cujo etc. The first one I read many years ago was The Stand and it's still one of my favourite books. The Dark Tower series are not King's usual style as tim000 says and are not really indicative of the majority of his books. However ,I thought they were fabulous and hated it when the story ended. It's such an immense series that you need to reread them to appreciate them. My personal favourites are The Drawing of the Three and Wizard and Glass.”
