Liked It “I've read this over and over. Excellent overview of horror fiction, horror films, and schlockola in the USA, from that delightful Stephen King POV. “I loved getting a basic introduction about horror from the master himself. I was too young to have followed a lot of horror from the beginning. This book brought me up to speed. ”

“ This is a wonderful book and a must read for anybody interested in horror as a genre. Too bad it ends at 1980. King should really write a sequel or an update. I'd love to read what he makes of current horror right now in a detailed analysis. ”
