“I think this book has to get 5 stars because this is the third time I've read it and I still enjoyed it immensely. Roland is truly a fascinating character and in this episode of the series we get to see two very different sides of him: the rugged, emotionless Western hero and also the childlike wonder of seeing our world for the first time. Eddie in particular is also a good character, and his sarcastic, comedic view of the world a nice contrast for Roland's personality. King's imagery also continues to be amazing in this book - I remember how after hearing it on tape for the first time my entire family went around talking about "lobstrosities" and saying "Did-a-chuk" for months. Highly recommended, especially for any King fans as I feel that this is one of his very best works.”
