If you're interested in this series, read the first ones first. If you already have, then there's no need for me to convince you to read this one.

Book 6 of the Dark tower series. The tower gets closer and the jouney is becoming more perilous.

A lot of things starting to wrap up in the series, but also introduces one of the craziest, most unique characters possible. You will never see him coming and only Stephen King could pull it off.

After Susannah flees The Calla at the climax of The Wolves, Roland, Eddie, Jake, Oy, and Pere Callahan give chase through the ancient door in Doorway Cave with the help of the Manni. Jake, Oy, and Callahan end up in New York City in the year of '99, hot on the trail of Susannah/Mia as she hurries towards her final destination. Meanwhile Roland and Eddie fly into Maine in the mid-seventies to the sound of gunfire, only to find Jack Andolini and Enrico Balazar's crew waiting for them. Can they escape and buy the vacant lot from Calvin Tower before it's too late, and cope with a brief visit to a new character in this tale, Roland's creator, Stephen King. Once again Stephen King shows his mastery for storytelling, weaving together a dense tale of horror, suspense, and fantasy, creating creatures and characters that are more than alive. Another masterpiece in the massive epic of the Dark Tower, with the end drawing near...

This book was alright in the Dark Tower series. It worked really well and added some closure to certain story lines.

King's Dark Tower series is excellent, and the only works of King I have really read. They intertwine what could be our own reality, and many others, with a freakish fantasy world underlying them all.

My least favorite of the series. I've never been able to shake the feeling the story would've been just as effective with the best parts of this in Calla or the finale.

This is the best work from a writer with a lot of good work. I've reread the entire series twice except the last book, which for one reason or another I can't bring myself to read. I like having the story incomplete.

Not as good as the other Dark Tower books, but still entertaining.
