“After Susannah flees The Calla at the climax of The Wolves, Roland, Eddie, Jake, Oy, and Pere Callahan give chase through the ancient door in Doorway Cave with the help of the Manni. Jake, Oy, and Callahan end up in New York City in the year of '99, hot on the trail of Susannah/Mia as she hurries towards her final destination. Meanwhile Roland and Eddie fly into Maine in the mid-seventies to the sound of gunfire, only to find Jack Andolini and Enrico Balazar's crew waiting for them. “King's Dark Tower series is excellent, and the only works of King I have really read. They intertwine what could be our own reality, and many others, with a freakish fantasy world underlying them all.”

“My least favorite of the series. I've never been able to shake the feeling the story would've been just as effective with the best parts of this in Calla or the finale.”

“This is the best work from a writer with a lot of good work. I've reread the entire series twice except the last book, which for one reason or another I can't bring myself to read. I like having the story incomplete. ”
