Money Hungry, by Sharon Draper was like sounding an alarm for youth in poverty. I empathize with Raspberry's "thirst" or obsession with having money at all times. I could even see myself in some of her reasoning's as to why you should have plenty of it. Ms. Hill, Raspberry's mother's, struggled...

I didn't love this book. While I thought the main character was developed, it seemed like some of her friends were flat characters. I also didn't find Zora or Dr. Mitchell believable. Perhaps it was because they were flat characters, and I just didn't know them well enough to believe them... ...

Raspberry and her mom live in the projects. Raspberry does everything she can to make money so she won't have to live like this forever. Her mom and she finally come to an understanding about money and life.

Money Hungry, by Sharon Draper was like sounding an alarm for youth in poverty. I empathize with Raspberry's "thirst" or obsession with having money at all times. I could even see myself in some of her reasoning's as to why you should have plenty of it. Ms. Hill, Raspberry's mother's, struggled with paying bills, lack of sufficient education, etc. were daunting. As a single mother, I know how it feels to wounder if you will have shelter or be on the streets tomorrow. I was reminded how important education is! Not just education (knowledge), but the application (action) of the education learned for a better future. It is so important to be able to try have a stable environment for our children. Raspberry felt as if she needed to compensate for her mother's inability to keep things together. To have that amount of stress/pressure put on youth can be distructive. Thank God Raspberry's mother raised her to have self respect. We see and hear of young girls resorting to drug dealing and even prostitution to survive on a daily bases. Money Hungry also reminded me that troubles will come, but sticking together is what will get you through it. Raspberry and her mother stuck together and the end was promising.

I Read This Book In The 9Th Grade And I Really Enjoyed It. It Was About A Girl That Did Almost Any Thing For Money Sold Stuff Like For And Got Some People Sick. And She Didn't Give A refund I Thought That Was Funny. But Her Mother Didn't Like That She Was Making All This Money The Way She Was Making It And One day She Threw It Out The Window. To Sum It Up, She Enjoyed Geting Money
