What is more interesting is that I end up liking Vince!
Jess Walter worked a lot of issues into this book - politics, Mafia, witness protection, love, the right to vote and the resiliency to make things right. The dark humor kept me on edge, not knowing where it was leading.
I don't like donuts but by the end of the book - I wanted a maple bar. ”
“Gangsters, cops, hookers, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan. Set in Spokane, WA. Fun crime novel with political soul searching thrown in. Recommended.”

The characters and setting are the driving force behind this novel. The plot becomes less important, as the reader becomes engaged by Vince and other charcters.”
