Excellent history of the rise of the early European nations, and the role of bubonic plague in shaping the medieval world. It read like a thriller, and I could hardly put it down.

Very informative about Justinian, Constantinople and the plague, the origins of the plague and how it spread throughout Asia minor and Europe.
