He gets a little sanctimonious about how dogs should rightly live -- and how many of us live in the Tetons and can permit their dogs the freedom to come and go at leisure? -- but his genuine love for his dog is really moving. Anyone who likes dogs will like this, and probably cry like a little girl at the end, just like I did.

Fucking phenomenal. One of the best dog books that I've ever read. It had me crying hysterically for the last fifty pages.

Good book. Very interesting opinion re: dogs and partnerships; I wish we could all take our dogs off leash, and run around the area. Mr. Kerasote is lucky that he can do that in the high hills of Wyoming. Good research, a bit long in some chapters, but generally a heart warming book about huge possibilities of sharing a close relationship with your best friend.

My husband and I read this together. It made us cry and laugh a lot. Anyone who loves dogs will love this book. Beautifully written and my husband who is a retired English Lit Professor agrees.

This was an extremely touching story of how we humans bond with our animals and they with us. I cried at the end.

This is the BEST "dog" book I have ever read by far. In my list of all time favorite books. Every dog lover deserves to read this!
