From the back cover - “Albert Camus is a Nobel Prize-winning author perhaps best known for his existential masterpiece, The Stranger. Critics argue, however, that his epic tale The Plague is the more accomplished novel. In the small coastal city of Oran, Algeria, rats begin rising form the filth...

At first this book seemed dry and boring i had to read it a couple times to understand what was going on until, i got it, this book was about a plague that hit Africa and a docter trying his best to fight his way through it all, I loved it.

Worth reading for the last scene alone, but really so many interesting characters and such a heavy topic, I can see why this one's endured the years. Read it! Damn you, read it!

Had to read this at school, and as I enjoyed it then, I'll give it another go as an adult. An accessible look at how people behave.

Wanna get some really funny and disturbed looks? Read this in the waiting room of a clinic. I didn't set out to upset people, but I did have a hearty chuckle once I figured out why I was being stared down so many times, on so many previous visits. That was a rough winter.

But, this book was an odd "bright" spot in that dismal December of 2006. Given my love of anything in the zombie genre, it isn't exactly a shocker that I would enjoy this. It's written in a prose thats gripping and cold and exactly right. Scary.
