This is a combination diet book and romance novel. The lengthy descriptions of food first made me hungry and then were over the top. All of Blumental's points about being overweight, dieting, exercise and self-worth are accurate and amusingly couched in the story of Maggie O'Leary, feisty over-weight New York columnist. It is predictable, but like all good romances has a happy ending.

A MUST READ FOR ANYONE NEEDING INSPIRATION. THIS BOOK CHANGED MY LIFE. I LOVED THE WAY THE AUTHOR SNUCK HEALTH FACTS INTO THE STORY THROUGH THE DAILY COLUMNS. SOME OF THEM ARE PRETTY SCARY. THE DIET SHE HAS OUTLINED IN THE BACK IS A MUST HAVE. I LOST CLOSE TO 50 LBS. USING THAT PLAN AND HAVE KEPT IT OFF FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS. WITHOUT STRUGGLE!
