Liked It“I loved this book. i first discovered Janice Kaplan when listening to The Men I Didn't Marry on Audiobook. This book is excellent. You really get in touch with the characters she creates. This is one that I found hard to put down and I think if you like Chick Lit you will too.” see full review » see other reviews » |
Didn’t Like It“This book was so dull for me.. maybe it's not my cup of tea but not too many funny moments and pretty dry narrative a lot of the time. Skip!” see full review » see other reviews » |

It reminds me of a happy ending book. the endign coul've been a little more happier though. But, I loved the fact that it kept me wanting to read, and incorporated many events and people of real time.”

This was not even fun in a guilty pleasure sort of way. Yeah, there were a few places when I laughed, but those giggles could not make up for the overall book, which is just plain bad. I feel guilty for having read it--and guilty for not putting it down and moving on. I'm writing this as a Public Service Announcement: Just Say NO to these authors. ”

A light read for Easter holiday in my mother tongue. I read the dust jacket and the theme about femenine friendship caught my attention. Well, it was full of fun and an humorous read although it was not my cup of tea at all. The idiosincracies of Jess and Lucy are beyond my understanding. I almost hated Lucy and her selfishness. The best part of the book is their friendship and their funny events about lovers, food, tantric sex, holiday resorts, etc. a bunch of hilarious adventures. Anyway, a good summerbook.”

So I decided to give it a whirl and plucked it out of my "to read" pile and boy am I glad that I did! The writing team of Lynn Schnurnberger and Janice Kaplan have delighted us with a uproarious novel about the difference between growing older and getting better as two friends struggle to keep up while holding on to what they treasure most, their family and their friendship.
`THE BOTOX DIARIES' was funnier than I imagined and kept me reading into the wee hours of the morning trying not to laugh so hard that I would wake my husband! I now see why this was last summers "it" book and can't wait to read `MINE ARE SPECTACULAR' by this amazing writing team! ”
“No. Taking it back to the library. A waste of time. Not sure I'll finish it...a bit too frivilous for me right now perhaps. I'm working with some kids that don't have warm clothes to wear in 20 degree weather; parents on drugs; in 6th grade and can't multiply 4 x 4...Certaintly speaks to how a great many people in this country are wasting their time, energy and resources! ”
