Didn’t Like It“I am not a fan. I think Love Story was far better than this. I am quite disappointed. I think this sequel was very much overrated because of its predecessor's success and fame. I am hoping for more but it felt very short.” see full review » see other reviews » |

Unfortunately, I am a bit disappointed. Found first 50 and last 50 pages interesting, the novel is dead and stale in the middle. The end is still interesting and not as the reader will be guessing.”

But he had to go on living, and this is the sequel, of how he tried in near future after losing his love. He tried with work, and with love, and came to terms with himself, with some measure of peace. ”

oliver's struggle through life after jenny's death was indeed difficult - he worked non-stop to somehow lessen the loneliness and pain of being single again, he isolated himself from other people...until the time came when he felt he was once again ready to be with someone...though i thought oliver would end up with marcie, the ending surprised me...but somehow it suited oliver better, a more positive ending to his journey of healing...”

Erich Segal does it without being a drag and makes me fall in love with Oliver Barett more. It is touching because of the way Segal deals with Oliver's character. Though he is not really looking out of Jen, yet consciously he is making the effort but all in vain because he is still so much in love. A very mature ending is the plus to making my head tick to more positive than negative.
If you ask me, I have been there and maybe that is why this all appeals to me more, but at the end of it all... A well accomplished novel.”
