- Dr. Donna Marie Rigden: Genetic research scientist who discovers how to make people immortal. A sucker for love triangles. There's something about her which attracts men and makes them want to protect her.
- Richard Harold Triplet: Spoilt rich brat, charming, good looking and intelligent. One of the research team working on immortality.
- Gary Browne: Donna's cousin and one of the genetic research team. A computer wiz and interested in nanotechnology.
- Sir Richard Triplet: Father of Richard. Very rich. A member of 'The Order', a secret organisation which is the real controlling power in the world. A 'good guy'.
- Mr. George Forrest: A member of 'The Order'. Super rich, totally ruthless, no morals, stubborn, misogynist and Donna's ex-boss out for revenge. The weird thing is he's ill and Donna would probably help him if he would just ask.
- Lady Triplet: A 92 year old 'sweet little old lady' and Richard's grandmother. Sweet she may seem, but she terrifies some people, including most of 'The Order'.
- John Liu: Of Chinese descent, John is a hit man called into action by Forrest. He is ruthless but detached. He does what is necessary to achieve his goals. He's also an expert in nanothechnology and uses his skills to spy and control.
- Rita: Minor character. Rita works in the kitchen.
- Kenneth Robert Rigden (Ken): Minor character. Donna's 'father'. Deceased at story start. In a later book you'll find out a little more about him.
- Dr. Mark Mobley: Minor character. Doctor treating Forrest for CML
- Jeffery Wein (Jeff): An engineer working for Sir Richard. Young and enthusiastic about everything. Fascinated by nanotechnology.
- Alice Kingford: Minor character. One of Sir Richard's cooks.
- Amit Chaudhuri: Minor character. Member of 'The Order' representing India
- Mr. Triplet: Could refer to Sir Richard Triplet or his son Richard Triplet.
- Tina: Minor Character. Medical technician. A gold digger chasing Richard Triplet. He's gone out with her but is not really interested. When she gets rejected she settles her attention on Gary Browne but she has an ulterior motive.
- Tim McGowan: Minor character. One of Sir Richard Triplet's security staff. A burly Scot.
- Mildred Hayes: Minor character. Sir Richard Triplet's secretary.
- Pam Greer: Minor character. Receptionist
- Dr. Donna Marie Rigden: Donna's mother

Setting & Locations edit
- Shreveport, Louisiana: A medical research center owned by GW Forrest
- Newcastle Stem Cell Centre, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England: A medical research centre in the UK specialising in stem cell research and genetics. It's location would be somewhere like that of the Life Centre there.
- Triplet Hall: An impressive mansion located in Corbridge, Northumberland, England. The building is fictional but the location would be where Howden Dene is now.
- Langston Castle: The home of Lady Anabelle Triplet. Located where Langley Castle is now
- Swinhope Mine: A real site and real mine. The location of Sir Richard's secret underground complex. The real mine was filled in with waste from another mine many years ago. Today there is little to see but a rough road to it and piles of rubble - exactly as in the story.
