I bought this book after reading Kitchen and was not disappointed. Banana Yoshimoto's character narratives are like a breath of fresh air, and the stories re-read anytime I need a little moment of deep thought.

Good book. I am not a big short story person, but I liked her work.

her books are always kind of dark, but i love her writing, she is very vivid, so you can picture everything going on. she's one of my favorite authors.

Lizard was my first Yoshimoto, and is probably still the best since it's a short story comp and she has to get to the point quick. I liked all the pieces in this collection tremendously.
