Zach Taylor (alpha male) comes home from a marine stint to find his sister gone and she has rented out his room. He has always worried about his sister being conned and being takin advantage of because she is wealthy. So is jumps to the wrong conclusions about Lily Morrisette. Lily is a corporate Chef who just happens to be between jobs at the moment. Zach is accusing her running a scam on his sister Lily, when she shows him the lease it doesn't really calm him down much because Lily isn't around. He is damanding to know where she is. The man is just to much. He is like a steam engine. After finding out about his sister's engagement he blows his stack. And they wind up going after them. When they get there is a ransom note things get unbearable and they become closer. I enjoyed this couple also secondary characters where good too!

Fun, but uneven. The descriptions of the heroine made it seem like she was stuck in the 1980s, even though the book's from 2003. Ironed designer jeans with stiletto heels? Maybe this is cutting edge fashion, and maybe most 30-somethings dress like this & do big hair & makeup to hang out around the house. Anyway, that, and the errors in the book really kept me from enjoying it as much as I might have otherwise. Also, it had the hero making a stupid assumption about the heroine & sticking with it despite all evidence to the contrary, which always makes me mad. The story about a fake kidnapping and the revitalization of two of the secondary characters' marriage, and the revenge story were all good. A good editor could make this a 5-star book.
