If you are looking for a reason to move to Europe, just read this book. It's quite deep in History and Philosophy though. It explains American culture pretty well and it compares to European culture. I was so depressed because I wished I was living in the E.U.!

The argument is very well presented and backed. Rifkin tackles his thesis from pretty much every aspect possible; economically, philosophically, sociologically and politically. However, I thought the book is very repetitive and drags a little too long. Also, a lot of the propositions are presented without giving examples. Still, the book is very informative and intuitive.
