You'll never meet or read about anyone like Maniac. A fun read for ANYBODY with a taste for humor, unique characters, and stories that mean something.

When I taught 6th grade, we read this book in class. It is a classic young adult read about the struggles of an orphaned young man who doesn't understand the barriers of race. It is a great read and even as an adult, you will find yourself questioning your beliefs and thoughts on racial division and if there is really a "place" we all belong.

This book is one of my favorites!!!! I first read it in 5th grade, and still read over it every so often. I love how maniac Magee is smart, caring, like others, and yet so different from others at the same time. I also want to know how cobbles knot ever got so big!!!!

A much-loved book from my youth that easily stands the test of time. Follow the young hero as he tries to deal with life and the unfairness in it through incredible deeds that quickly reach the status of urban legends. A light and deceptively simple read that is engaging and teaches a valuable lesson besideswhich.

As an adult, I recommend reading a few young adult/children's novels. This is one of them. I have read this story aloud to my students in elementary school for a few years now (4-5 times total). It is still awesome every time. The kids really get into the book and like to talk about it later. It is well worth an adult's time.
