With so little known of Anne Boleyn, a woman whose role was catalytic to the English reformation, it is refreshing to finally read so finely written a book that uses evidence of history to construct a fair portrait of a fascinating person. Politician, manipulator, intellectual - Anne Boleyn, at long last, enjoys viable historical representation in Eric Ives' work. Anyone who invests time in the study of Tudor England must read this book.
