Riddley Walker tells the story, in his own language, of becoming a man when he turns 12, his father being killed in an accident, and the series of life-changing events that follow...

The book is set in the English countryside around Canterbury in 2347 O.C. (Our Count) which starts an unknown number of years after some apocalyptic event that apparently took place in 1997. The language is a little hard to decipher at first, being a phonetic representation of an ignorant and illiterate...
