Taking him to Thailand, where his father works. Instead, he takes him to Nepal to climb Mt. Everest. To be the youngest person to reach the top of the world. But worst things are happening. The weather is getting bad and someone on the mountain is climbing without permission. Will Peak make it to the peak of Everest, or will he be thrown in jail? Again. Read this book to find out.”

He is named Peak because is his parents really liked to climb mountains. One holiday, he was caught by the police trying to climb up a skyscraper. After that event, his dad took him to Mt.Everest. After a lot of near death incidents and getting sick, he didn't make it to the top but he let his friend take the title of the youngest person who reached the summit.
I really liked this book because the way that the author writes is very interesting. He describes the scene very well and I can imagine being on the mountain with the character. The theme of this book is perseverance because the main character suffered through losses but he tries his best to get back up. Although I was kind of disappointed that the main character didn't reach the summit, I think that it is a very good book for young readers. ”
“Peak by Roland Smith is about a boy named Peak which i think is a very odd name. He decided to climb a glacier. He was so tired that he took a rest and and somehow his face got stuck to the ice and couldn't come off. Once he got his face off the glacier he was leaking a lot of blood. Once he got to the top a helicopter came to pick him up and nearly made him fall. When he got to saftey he was arrested. So far it has been and interesting read but kind of boring. I would reccomend this to people who like adventures and action.”
