Wow. This book was awesome too! I kindof knew what was going to happen; I just didn't predict how.

I wasn't expecting to like this series as much as I did. The whole series is wonderfully balanced, with compelling characters, action, romance, and a slightly supernatural aspect of Celtic history.

I enjoyed these books but they weren't my favorite Lawhead series. The way that the Celtic history was woven into the story and the depiction of another land (which effects the spirituality of our own world) was intriguing. However, I found some of the attempts to meld the ideas of Christianity and the substance of Celtic pagan religion a bit distrubing at times. And while all religions (as well as all believable lies) contain fragments of truth, so that you can see shadows of the true God everywhere in this corrupted world, I put down these books slightly disappointed. Lawhead's main plot revolving around the war and the redemption of Albion were clear, but the more subtle attempts to connect this redemption to Christianity seemed a bit like murky waters. Overall, the story is well worth reading and historical detailed. Well written in classic Lawhead style.
